It's here! The third annual annual Chancellor's Gala, "Dancing with The Cars," Saturday, February 4, at the Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum at the Wedgwood Resort. Doors open for cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and I'll play recorded dance music starting then and later during the band's breaks. Sit-down dinner starts around 7 p.m.

Live dance music by "TC and the Swing Cats," a new swing band led by Theresa Bauer and featuring the Mighty Untouchables blues band's iconic leader, Larry Raines on guitar, my favorite local drummer, Jim Vogt, superb vocalist, Morgan Eisenmayer, and Darren Gallagher on bass guitar. Big dance floor, 1920s-1950s theme, dress to match (optional)! Even Chancellor Rogers has bought a hip fedora just for the occasion!

Tickets $80 apiece, includes dinner.

Felix is really moving!  Come and join Afro-Cuban dance now at a new location: Dance Theatre Fairbanks, 656 7th Avenue (behind Sadlers). Friday night classes are: Afro-Cuban Rhythms aerobics from 6-7 p.m. then Rueda from 7-8 p.m.  Wednesday night Salsa classes remain at Raks Souzana Studio, 1006 Smythe St. (behind Arctic Bowl), from 8-9 p.m.  Classes include dancers of all levels. 8. MOTOWN DANCE & SHOW AT PIONEER PARK CIVIC CENTER
http://www.fsaf.org/motown.php
Tickets are already selling fast online for the wildly popular Motown Cabaret and Dance Party, a fundraiser for the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, Friday, February 24, 7:30–11:30 p.m. in the Pioneer Park Civic Center Exhibit Hall. All ages welcome. Jan Tremblay and I are co-chairs of this event! This will be a sellout in advance, with some 300 or more people expected to attend. Don't wait until the last minute to buy your tickets, or you'll likely miss out!

Food catered by Bobby's Greek Restaurant and Silver Gulch Brewery.
Cash bar—beer, wine, soda, and a special Motown cocktail!

The show features Bobby Lewis, voice; Eustace Johnson, piano; and the Alaska Supremes! Bobby and Eustace, from the original Motown Cabaret in New York City, will lead the Alaska Supremes and the Tanana Temptations in an evening of songs from Motown, complete with backup line dancers. Bring your dancing shoes and/or dress in the period fashion of MOTOWN!

You can dance DURING the cabaret AND afterwards, when I'll provide recorded Motown music for dancing into the night. The bar will remain open for the entire night and the gourmet food will be sold as long as the supply lasts.

9. TITO PUENTE, JR. ORCHESTRA AT HERING FRIDAY, MARCH 23
Buy tickets here: http://www.fairbanksconcert.org/tickets
I like this quote from Tito's dad, the Mambo King, who said when asked about Salsa dancing, "Mambo is a dance. Salsa is something you put on chips." :-) Tito Jr. at the Apollo:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCWgCaWzR6M
