1. SWING AND BALLROOM DANCING THIS SATURDAY AT SILVER SPUR
Dance on the biggest and best nightclub dance floor in Alaska at the 
Silver Spur, this Saturday evening from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All kinds 
of recorded popular music, contemporary and oldies, for swing and 
ballroom dancing, with a heavier dose this Saturday of classic 1960s 
rhythm and blues. About half the tunes are selected for various kinds 
of swing dancing, the other half for ballroom dancing with a little 
Latin spice. No cover charge, adults only. And please spend money and 
tip well, even if you just order water, so that the Spur can pay their 
bills and we dancers can maintain our early evening welcome--a weekly 
welcome that has held up there for more than 10 years, through three 
ownerships! Thanks.

2.  SMOKE-FREE SWING/BALLROOM DANCE NIGHTCLUB AT PRINCESS (flyer 
attached)
Smoke-free ballroom and swing dancing continues in the classy and cozy 
Trackers Bar & Grill at the Princess Riverside Lodge this Friday and 
Saturday night, beginning at 8 p.m. and going to midnight. Full dinner 
menu, appetizers, dance-dubbed cocktails, and top-notch recorded dance 
music. And please spend money and tip well, even if you just order 
water, so that the Princess management keeps the welcome mat--ah, 
dance floor--out for us dancers! Like at the Silver Spur, it's about 
dancing for us, but about business for them.

3. LATHROP HIGH DANCE TEAM PUTS ON ANNUAL PERFORMANCE AND AUCTION 

The Lathrop High School Ballroom Dance Team will do its annual full-
dress choreographed dance performance and fundraising auction at 
Hering Auditorium, Friday night, April 2.

4. ARGENTINE TANGO PRACTICE EVERY SATURDAY
Nam Jeon hosts an Argentine tango practice every Saturday afternoon, 2 
p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Mary Siah Recreation Center, 1024 14th Avenue. 
Might want to check with Nam to make sure the practice is happening

5. THERESA BAUER WITH GUITARIST LARRY "RAIN DOG" RAINES AT CHATANIKA
It's almost time again for the annual Chatanika Lodge Outhouse Races 
and Music, Fun and Games Marathon (I added that marathon part), 
Saturday and Sunday, March 20 & 21. On Saturday, "Girls with Guitars" 
featuring special guest guitarist, Larry "Rain Dog" Raines, leader of 
the Mighty Untouchables blues band, and Theresa Bauer, the Chatanika 
Nightingale, will perform for your listening and dancing pleasure 
beginning around 3:00 or 3:30 p.m. immediately following the outhouse 
races which launch at 2:00 p.m. The party goes ALL day & night, with 
games & contests on band breaks--bring your long johns for the long 
john contest! The fun continues all day Sunday the 21st, too, with 
music by Kit Carson, Earl Hughes & friends. Kit specializes in oldies 
rock and roll. A decade or so ago, Kit and Kurt spent several hours at Kurt’s 
house compiling from his repertoire an entire night of dance music for 
him to perform for a swing/ballroom dance at Pioneer Park Dance Hall. 
So he's clued into what dancers like--that is, if he remembers that 
far back! The Outhouse Race weekend includes a pool tournament, 
raffles & drawings, limbo & hula hoop contests, etc. Photo attached of

6. JOSE MARTINEZ HOSTS HOT LATIN DANCING AT BOSTON'S THIS SATURDAY
It's another night of Latin nightclub dancing hosted by DJ ATM (Jose 
Martinez) at Boston's Sports Bar this Saturday night, starting at 9 
p.m. and going to 1 a.m. Adults only, no cover charge.
