Class is limited to 10 couples at a time.  Learn 1 8 count & 2 basic 6 count moves that are the basis for the rest of the hundreds of WCS moves!  Then “graduate” from Project Swing to other lessons for more advanced moves.  Call 223-0387 or email Nellee at nelleeb@gci.net to sign up.  Nellee is a GSDTA certified dance instructor. Our other Monday lessons are: 6:30-8:30 p.m. -WCS 101A/B, $7 pp (learn 11 more basic 6 & 8 count WCS moves as approved by The World Swing Dance Council), and Project Swing Anchorage II: Free Intro to Country 2 Step, & concurrent beyond basics 2 Step ($7pp) Lessons @ 8:30-9:00 p.m. Not new to WCS – come anyway and learn something new about WCS.  Can’t come on Mondays? We have lessons on Thursdays too (see below). Dance alert: Starting in September the free Intro lessons are only on the 1st Mondays of each month. Dance Alert 2: No lessons on Labor Day, Monday 9/1/14.

Thursdays:  Nellee & Bobby’s Beginning & Beyond Swing n’ Country 2 Step Lessons 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Moose Lodge (4211 Arctic Blvd.). Summer 2014 Lessons:  WCS 101A @ 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. ($7pp): Learn the 1st 7 of 14 basic foundation WCS moves as approved by The World Swing Dance Council, how to lead & follow, dance to the music & more; WCS 101B @ 7:30-8:30 p.m. ($7pp): Learn 8 more basic foundation WCS moves as approved by the WSDC & some fun variations 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. ($7 pp); Starting in Fall 2014 – Boogie Woogie basic & beyond lessons 8:30-9:30 p.m. ($7pp). Boogie Woogie is European Swing – but it’s a lot like Lindy Hop & West Coast Swing. And we are teaching aerials too (lifts & drops and more). Ask us about our discount coupon book - $35 for 6 lessons, and other discounts are available too. We have the flashy moves to spark up your east coast swing, west coast swing, Lindy Hop & Salsa!  If you’ve caught the Latin & Lindy Bugs – we’ve got the moves for you (yes, WCS is a form of Lindy & you can put swing moves in your salsa to spice it up)! No partner necessary.  No prior experience necessary – we’ll teach you from scratch.  We use the Unit System (developed by dance legend Skippy Blair).  These lessons are for any level of dancer, older teens and adults, and open to the public.  Our emphasis is fun (learning fun moves and building on the basics), frame (holding yourself to connect easily and clearly with your partner), and form (learning the style; dancing not marching, moving fluidly – not just counting and moving through memorized steps and patterns).  Yes, swing dancing has some complicated moves, but it’s also about doing moves that are simple & basic, but look like a lot more; it’s about putting together combinations of moves, and reacting to your partner at the right time in the music.  We mix some footwork, some flair and a whole lot of fun!  For more info call Nellee @ 223-0387.  Lots of free parking! J  We teach the fancy moves you see on Dancing With The Stars (and more)!!  DANCE ALERT:  Drop-in students are welcome!  Nellee is a GSDTA certified dance instructor.  J  Email Nellee about private salsa and swing (WCS, Lindy Hop & 2 Step) dance lessons – ak_sound@hotmail.com . Dance Alert 2: Pricing for Thursday classes – We offer 3 classes (currently WCS & Country 2 Step), but only charge students for 1 of the 2 WCS classes even if they come early or stay for both classes. So the most we charge is $14 for the evening – but ask Nellee about our coupon book & other discounts for continuing students. Dance Alert: Summer Schedule – No Thursday Country 2 Step Lessons in August & Sept. 2014. We’re going dancing instead with our students – call Nellee if you want to join us. 223-0387. J Dance Alert 2: This fall we’ll be teaching Boogie Woogie instead of 2 Step on Thursdays (Euro-swing: learn drops, lifts, and aerials too). Dance Alert 3: No lessons on Thursday 9/4/14.
